Trailblazers' 2014 Summer Track & Field Season Overview:
Trailblazers’ coaches are very proud of the athletes on this team. And we thank all of our coaches for their hard work, time and commitment to the program and to the athletes!

This was the Tallahassee Trailblazers 16th year of operation; and each year serves to be different and better in its own right. There were a total of 45 athletes this season - a very workable and comfortable number of athletes to serve. This was a different season for the track club in that we did not travel to the AAU National Jr. Olympics held in Des Moines, IA, as one unit. Coach Sancho decided that the AAU Club Championships held in Orlando would serve as the team's national competition arena. It was very interesting and exciting. It no doubt afforded the level of competition experienced at an AAU National and our athletes rose to the occasion as done at AAU Nationals. **A big congratulations to the 11 Year Old Boys Division who competed at AAU Club . [Galen Johnson, Jahaz Morgan & Rajauhn Sancho.] Their accomplishments and wins placed them in 3rd Place overall of all 11 Year Old Boys competing there. Woo-hoo!** However it was a little bitter sweet not to go to Des Moines as a unit for the team has been going to AAU National Jr. Olympic competitions since its inception. Fortunately two of our athletes did indulge in the Des Moines experience and did quite well (Kayla Sapp & Christopher Cotton [11th-Shot Put/out of 53 competitors]).

The overall team performed and competed quite well throughout the regular season earning top-placed medals in just about every track & field category the team had athletes in. There were many, many proud moments for coaches, parents and most of all "the athletes!" The name "Trailblazers" was heard throughout meet competitions as our athletes' "Blazed the way....For others to follow!"

So as we close this 2014 track and field season with this banquet and team outing we hope we achieved the team's mission for its athletes: to improve self-esteem, self-discipline, and leadership skills among youth ages 7 to 18 through participation in the sport of track and field. And remember our motto "Blazing the way....For others to follow" should continually be your mantra at school, in extracurricular activities, among your peers and so forth, and so forth!
