2012 Season Wrap-Up

Trailblazers' results at the 2012 AAU National Jr. Olympic Games /Turner Stadium - Houston (Humble), TX:

We had better results this AAU Nationals than we have had in a couple of years, so Congrats to the AAU National Trailblazers! Although the team has just three (3) medalists, many of our athletes achieved new "Personal Records" in their event(s) breaking their own records.

We have a bronze medalist [3rd in the Nation] - Jahaz Morgan in the Sub Bantam Boys Triathlon (3 events); a 4th Place Medalist [4th in the Nation] - Tonie Morgan in the Primary Girls Long Jump; and a 6th Place Medalist [6th in the Nation] - Auryn West in the Sub Midget Girls Pentathlon (5 events). Please "high five" them when you see them.

Although the top eight in each event receives a medal we like to acknowledge our athletes who placed in the top 10 in the Nation because that is considered a feat as well. We have only one this year and that is the already medaled Jahaz Morgan who placed 10th in the Sub Bantam Boys 800 Meter Run.
And as Coach Sancho stated even being in the top 20 in the Nation in an event is something to shout about.
Top 20 Places: Brittany Corbett (11th in Heptathlon, 16th in Individual Javelin); Kennedy Williams (11th in RaceWalk); Auryn West (12th in 80m Hurdles); Khya Nelson (19th in High Jump); and Javan Morgan (20th in Pentathlon)

As I stated several Trailblazers (including the medalists) "PRed" in their events from State competition improving in their abilities, even if slightly - but that’s positive gain. Following is a list of them - please salute them as well.
